Don't Tap is a click-and-tap game similar to Piano Tiles and Don't Tap the White Tile. The game has six play modes: classic, arcade, zen, rush, relay, and arcade+. On the home screen, black and white tiles display these modes.
The player's goal is to select the black tiles that come on the screen as rapidly as possible. They also enjoy the piano music that accompanies the game.
All options include a vertical grid of white tiles interspersed with black ones. However, they differ slightly. For example, in classic mode, the player must complete the level as quickly as possible. They can then replay to try to beat their previous best time.
In arcade mode, the player tries to play as long as possible and get the greatest score while the game increases the frequency with which each black tile appears among the white squares. In Zen mode, they must beat their previous best score within 30 seconds. In Rush Mode, users must achieve their highest score based on the number of black tiles they select every second. In relay mode, they try to select as many black tiles as possible in ten seconds.
When a player performs well, Don't Tap shows them a congratulations screen. It also makes playing enjoyable by changing the piano music in each setting. As a result, replaying a mode allows the player to learn and enjoy new songs.
If the player fails to match or beat their previous time or score, the game will usually advise them to try again or take a break.
